General Care.

Applying a soft cloth with mild soapy water to the watch case and metal bracelet is the optimal way to gently clean your watch. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Be sure to secure the crown in the closed position prior to cleaning in order to avoid water damage. Following the exposure to saltwater, simply rinse the watch under tap water and dry with a soft cloth.

Water Resistance.

5 ATM (50 meters / 165 feet)

Water-resistance in watches and wrist gear is the rating at which the product can withstand water pressure up to a set atmosphere. The construction of the watch case is designed to protect against the ingress of water up to a certain atmosphere. Columbia timing is constructed for protection from perspiration, light rain, bathing, and swimming. As a precaution, do not expose the watch to depths/pressure greater than what is marked on the dial or case back. Always set the crown in the closed position before contact with water. It is important not to operate the crown position, pushers on a chronograph and digital, or any other buttons when the watch is submerged in water. If your watch features a screw-down crown, be sure to return it to the closed position before exposing the watch to water.

Leather Care.

Proper care will optimize the durability, performance, and longevity of your watch straps. Water-resistance applies only to the watch case. Leather watch straps should not be worn while swimming or exposed to wet conditions. Exposure to direct water on leather may cause the leather to show water spots and damage the physical characteristics of the leather. Watch straps are not covered under the warranty.

Battery.

Battery types for Columbia watches are as follows:

Analog Watches = Silver Oxide Battery (SR Type)
Ana-Digi Watches = Silver Oxide Battery (SR Type) for analog movement and Coin Type Lithium Magnesium Dioxide Battery (CR2025) for digital movement

Standard battery life ranges from 3 to 5 years depending on the movement type. Frequent use of the chronograph and digital functions may shorten the life of the battery. Battery replacement can be facilitated through local jewelers or can be performed through the Columbia Timing service center.
